Yesterday’s White House press conference with President Obama showed a new man, and perhaps a new president. Traditionally in his rare press conferences ( since you can not program a teleprompter with answers to questions you do not know in advance) the president was aloof, professorial, talked slow and calculated, and seemed to not enjoy interacting with members of the media or to be questioned ( see first debate with Mitt Romney).
However, something was different yesterday. President Obama came out enthused, ready to answer questions, and with a vigor and determination that was not present during the past few years. Perhaps the real President Obama has emerged with the validation he, and his administration, needed to pursue meaningful reform and tackle challenges and more importantly take on his critics. Good to see some fortitude from our president, now lets see if he can do anything with it.
